‘EXTRA MILE’ SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR
REORGANIZATION AND EXPANSION OF PROGRAM
PITTSBURGH – For more than 20 years now, four inner city Catholic schools,
through the support of the Extra Mile Education Foundation, have been able to
provide a quality, value-centered education to nearly 650 students annually.
To maintain Catholic education in the inner city that is affordable and accessible
to as many families as possible the Diocese of Pittsburgh and St. Charles Lwanga,
St. James, St. Benedict the Moor and St. Paul Cathedral parishes, in collaboration
with the Extra Mile Education Foundation, have announced a long range plan to
reorganize the four school programs into two educational sites. More>>

statement on the state of health care reform.
SUNDAY TV MASS TO MOVE
WPXI-TV will be discontinuing the Sunday Mass at 6:00 AM on Channel 11. The
Mass will now air at 6:00 AM on Pittsburgh Cable News Channel (PCNC) and The
Retro TV Network (RTV). This transition of airing the Mass on PCNC and RTV will
be effective April 11, 2010. More>>
BEGINNING EXPERIENCE: A RETREAT FOR GRIEVING SINGLES
The loss of a spouse through death, separation or divorce is one of life’s
most traumatic experiences. The Beginning Experience weekend program helps grieving
single-again persons travel through the darkness of their grief toward the future
with renewed hope. The next weekend will be held March 19-21, 2010 at the Gilmary
Center in Moon Twp., PA. Payment arrangements and possible financial assistance

HEALTH MINISTRY PROGRAM
A health ministry workshop will be held on Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m.-1:30
p.m. in Room 2190 on the campus of UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood.
The workshop will examine how to promote healthy living, what is health ministry,
