St. Vincent de Paul, New Castle
St. Vincent de Paul was established in 1993 as part of the diocese's reorganization and revitalization program. It was formed by the merger of four parishes in New Castle: Holy Cross, St. Lucy, St. Michael and Ss. Philip and James. At first, all four churches remained open and served the new parish. However, it soon became obvious that the parish could not support four church buildings. On September 8, 2007, the parish closed three of the four churches, leaving only St. Lucy open. On the same day, St. Lucy was renamed St. Vincent de Paul.
