Discernment and the Parish Pastoral Council

Discernment calls for deep listening.  Deep listening means that we attend with mind and heart.  We listen to God in Scripture, in the voices of holy men and women present in our rich Catholic tradition and we listen to the Holy Spirit speaking through the members of our parish.  Paying attention to all of these voices, ultimately leads to the voice "within."

A parish pastoral council uses discernment for selecting members and making informed decisions. 

Within the attached document, you will find resources to assist your parish in using a prayerful discernment process for the selection of pastoral council members.  Since it is a Word document, it can easily be customized for your parish.
