17th Annual Lovewalk for the Poor
Theme:
"Blessed Are You..." Luke 6:20
This annual
event is held near Valentine’s Day and all ages are welcome to
participate. After celebrating Mass at Sacred Heart Parish in Shadyside,
the participants carry the donated food, infant clothing and baby formula they
brought to East End Cooperative Ministries (EECM) soup kitchen. By
participating, walkers experience the hardships of the homeless who carry their
possessions with them. The walk is generally one mile in
length.
