MODELS OF FAMILY CENTERED CATECHESIS

A. Primary models of family centered catechesis—stand alone

  1. Families meet in clusters with periodic gatherings at main sight for fellowship.

  2. Families gather monthly at church for Faith Formation then receive materials to take home to continue their formation.

  3. Whole parish is catechized in intergenerational family groups/clusters

  4. Home centered catechesis with parent sessions for enrichment/and/or seasonal family gatherings
     
  5. Intergenerational family clusters with adult leader

B. Secondary models of family catechesis— in addition to traditional classroom catechesis

  1. Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter— family gatherings/inserts/resources

  2. In-home lectionary based catechesis with monthly gatherings: parents/students/family

  3. Classroom catechesis plus family or parent sessions

  4. Classroom catechesis plus home materials

C. Alternative models of Catechesis—other than/beyond traditional classroom catechesis

    10.  Cluster groups of children taught in a home by parent leaders
