Mission Statement

The Ministry for Deaf Persons, within the Department for Persons with Disabilities, is established for the purpose of serving the Catholic Deaf Community of the
Diocese of Pittsburgh.
It is a Ministry which proclaims the Gospel through Educational, Spiritual, Catechetical and Social Programs.
Our mission is to assist people who are deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind realize, understand, develop and live out their baptismal commitment.

This is a picture book about a young, deaf girl who shares her faith experience as a member of a bilingual Catholic Church where American Sign Language and English are used.  It provides deaf children with a sense of belonging in their faith community and hearing children with insights into the world of deafness.
