TEENS ENCOUNTER CHRIST
RETREAT

TEC is a movement of an adult and young adult faith community grounded in the paschal mystery of our savior Jesus Christ.  As an expression of faith and love, the faith community of this movement sponsors a retreat for high school seniors through young adults.  The retreat focuses on the life of Jesus Christ through His death, resurrection and His sending forth the Holy Spirit at a time of transformation from adolescence into young adulthood with all of the concerns and questions that is raises.  The retreat offers youth and young adults the opportunity to search with others on life's journey who have already traveled down parts of this path.  It offers the candidates fellow journeyers with which to question and share, all the while growing deeper in their relationship with the living Jesus Christ and His presence in His Church.  It is a spiritual journey that requires active support on the part of their TEC sponsor as well as the other adults in their local faith community (parish or campus ministry) before, and especially after the retreat experience.  These individuals are essential in helping the candidate continue to process their encounter with the living Jesus Christ from the weekend, the team, other retreatants, their personal giftedness as well as their unmet expectations.
