We are pleased that you logged on to the homepage of the Secretariat for Education in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.  We have a new look and hopefully a greater ease in accessing a wealth of information and resources from the ministry of Catholic education.  

        There is no greater priority today, for our families and for the Church, than the Christian formation of our children and youth.  Cultural and societal influences - often in conflict with the Gospel values - bombard our young people today.  We are a faith community and need to offer a strong voice and clear guidance in helping our young people embrace a life of truth in God's love.

        We can only do that well if we ourselves are informed in and practicing of our faith.  Our strong faith witness as one on fire with God's love is essential if we are to be good and effective teachers.

        I hope our homepage will be a help to everyone who visits.  Together let us work to share the light and truth of Jesus Christ to everyone in the world.
