About Us

Dear Friend of Young Adult Ministry,

At the beginning of the Third Millennium, the Secretariat for Education developed a new vision for Young Adult Ministry in the diocese.  Our new vision is inclusive of all young adults and supports the ideas and insights mentioned in the "Sons and Daughters of the Light", the national pastoral plan for Young Adult Ministry approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in November of 1996.  The Secretariat for Education believes ministry with young adults is most effective when it is coordinated and executed by young adults.  The diocesan Department for Youth and Young Adult Ministry works with pastoral ministers, young adult organizations, volunteers and young adults.  Our ministry supports single and married Catholics in their 20's and 30's.  We best offer support for this ministry by working to connect, train, and support those involved in young adult ministry. 

The purpose of this web site is to fulfill our goals and promote "Sons and Daughters of the Light"  In this web site, you will find information on our Young Adult Leadership Team and Network, resources that will help you build your ministry to young adults, information on young adult events across the diocese, articles on young adult ministry, along with other useful insights on this new and exciting ministry.  Please feel free to direct any questions or comments to me.  Thank you.
