Recruitment is an ongoing task of the Department for Youth and Young Adult Ministry. The diocesan hiring policies promulgated in 1999 are coordinated and implemented with the gathering of credentials, conducting the youth minister perceiver interview, and scheduling interviews in parishes. Experienced youth ministers serve as mentors for beginners. Training and formation opportunities are available at the monthly diocesan youth minister meetings, and in the Youth Ministry methods course.
