FOUR MEN TO BE ORDAINED PRIESTS ON JUNE

to be ordained are in Butler, Sheraden,
Monroeville and Carmichaels.
PITTSBURGH – Bishop David A. Zubik will ordain four
men to the priesthood at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Saint
Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.
The men to be ordained are Deacons Daniel J. Langa, John
F. Naugle, Nicholas S. Vaskov and Michael A. Zavage.
Deacon Langa, 26, is a member of Saint Paul Parish, Butler.
He graduated from Duquesne University/Saint Paul Seminary
and Saint Vincent Seminary.
Deacon Naugle, 28, is a member of Holy Innocents Parish,
Sheraden. He graduated from Saint Vincent College, Duquesne
University/Saint Paul Seminary, and Theological College, the
National Seminary of the Catholic University of America.
Deacon Vaskov, 26, is a member of Saint Bernadette Parish,
Monroeville. He graduated from Duquesne University/Saint Paul
Seminary and North American College, Rome.
Deacon Zavage, 26, is a member of Saint Hugh Parish, Carmichaels.
He graduated from Duquesne University/Saint Paul Seminary
and St. Vincent Seminary.
“The Church of Pittsburgh rejoices in the ordination
of these four men as priests of Jesus Christ, because the
church’s mission is continued in their ministry,”
said the Rev. Dennis P. Yurochko, rector of Saint Paul Seminary
in Crafton. “Through the hands of these new priests
Christ’s saving grace will continue to be distributed,
especially in the celebration of the sacraments.”
The ordination ceremony is to be televised live on the Christian
Associates of Southwestern Pennsylvania channel, Channel 95,
on the Comcast cable system in the city of Pittsburgh, and
the Mass is open to the public.

Deacon Daniel J. Langa, B.A.
Saint Paul Parish
Daniel Langa was born on August 1, 1982. He is the son of
David and Julia Ann Langa. Dan has one sister, Jennifer. Saint
Paul Parish in Butler is his home parish. He attended Moraine
Elementary School in Prospect, Slippery Rock Middle School,
and graduated from Slippery Rock High School. In the fall
of 2001, Langa was accepted into the priestly formation program
and began studies at Saint Paul Seminary and Duquesne University.
He graduated from Duquesne University in May 2005 with a Bachelor
of Arts in Philosophy and entered Saint Vincent Seminary in
the fall of 2005. He received pastoral experience at Saint
Benedict the Moor Parish, Hill District, and Our Lady of Fatima
Parish, Hopewell Township.
Deacon John F. Naugle, M.A.
Holy Innocents Parish
John Naugle was born on January 31, 1981. He is the son of
Rose Volgen and is an only child. Holy Innocents Parish in
Sheraden is his home parish. Naugle attended Saint Agnes Elementary
School in Pittsburgh and graduated from Central Catholic High
School in Pittsburgh and graduated from Saint Vincent College
in Latrobe with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics.
In fall 2003, he was accepted into the priestly formation
program and entered the pre-theology program at Saint Paul
Seminary and Duquesne University. Naugle graduated in May
2005 with a Master of Arts in Philosophy and entered Theological
College, the National Seminary of the Catholic University
of America in Fall 2005. He received pastoral experience at
Saint Camillus Parish, Neshannock Township and Saint Gregory
Parish, Zelienople.
Deacon Nicholas S. Vaskov
Saint Bernadette Parish
Nicholas Vaskov was born on March 27, 1983. He is the son
of Constance and Eugene Vaskov. He has one sister, Victoria.
Saint Bernadette Parish in Monroeville is Nick’s home
parish. He attended Saint James Elementary School in Wilkinsburg
and Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, graduating
in 2001. After attending Duquesne University for one year,
Vaskov was accepted into the priestly formation program in
Fall 2002. After graduating from Duquesne University in May
2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, he has completed
theological studies at the North American College, Rome. He
received pastoral experience at Saint Irenaeus Parish, Oakmont.
Deacon Michael A. Zavage, B.A.
Saint Hugh Parish
Michael Zavage was born on November 29, 1982. He is the son
of Michael and Joan Zavage and has three sisters, Erin, Kimberly,
and Sara. Saint Hugh Parish in Carmichaels is his home parish.
He attended Nemacolin Elementary School, Carmichaels Elementary
School, Carmichaels High School, and attended Waynesburg College
for one year before transferring to Duquesne University. In
fall 2002, Zavage was accepted into the priestly formation
program and began studies at Saint Paul Seminary and Duquesne
University. He graduated from Duquesne University in May 2005
with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and entered Saint Vincent
Seminary in fall 2005. He received pastoral experience at
Saint Gregory Parish in Zelienople and Saint Anne Parish,
Castle Shannon.
