Parish History
St. Stephen was established in 1993 as part of the diocese's reorganization and revitalization project. The parish was formed by the merger of St. Ann and St. Stephen parishes in Hazelwood. The new parish retained the name of St. Stephen. Initially, the parish kept both church buildings open. However, it soon became obvious that the parish had neither the need nor the resources to maintain two church buildings. On June 14, 1998, St. Ann Church closed and the building was sold shortly afterwards.
