Lovewalk for the Poor
February 10, 2013, 2:00pm
The Lovewalk for the Poor, held on the Sunday nearest Saint Valentine’s Day, is a worship and social service experience aimed to help the poor of our diocese. After celebrating Mass, walkers carry the donations they previously collected to East End Cooperative Ministries. By doing so the walkers experience the hardships of the homeless who carry their possessions with them at all times. The Lovewalk for the Poor will take place at Sacred Heart Parish in Shadyside and is open to all ages.
Middle School Retreat
April 13-14, 2013
A NET Team consisting of 10 to 12 missionaries ages 18 to 28 will be here to invite all they meet to give their lives to the only one who can satisfy their hungry hearts - Jesus Christ. The NET Team will provide our young people with a more intense retreat experience by taking them out of their regular environment and helping them to think more seriously about their relationship with God. This overnight retreat is held at the Gilmary Center (www.gilmarycenter.org) and is open to young people in grades 7-8. Visit www.netusa.org for more information.
