STATEMENT OF BISHOP DAVID A.
Pope Benedict XVI 2005-2013
Pope Benedict: "I feel that this word of God is directed in particular to me, in this moment of my life. The Lord calls me to 'climb the mountain,' to dedicate myself even more to prayer and meditation. But this does not mean abandoning the church; on the contrary, if God asks this of me it is precisely so that I may continue to serve (the church) with the same dedication and the same love with which I have done so till now, but in a way more suited to my age and strength."

ALL CATHOLIC PARISHES TO BE OPEN EVENING OF MARCH 6 FOR CONFESSIONS
Pittsburgh – Bishop David Zubik has launched “The Light is on for You,” a campaign aimed at calling Catholics to the Sacrament of Confession.
In a letter to all priests and deacons of the diocese at the beginning of Lent, Bishop Zubik asked “for every parish in the Diocese of Pittsburgh to have their doors open and their lights on Wednesday, March 6, from 6-9 p.m. to welcome those seeking the sacrament.
“My hope and prayer is to attract those who might have been away from the church for a long time to take advantage of this special night of grace.
