Regional Vicariate 3

A native of Ellwood City, Father Esposito attended Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md., and was ordained by Bishop Vincent Leonard on Sept. 30, 1978.  He served as a parochial vicar at St. Bartholomew in Penn Hills and St. Columbkille in Imperial before he began a 17-year ministry in health care.  Father Esposito was a chaplain at the Scott Regional Center of Kane Hospital and St. Clair Hospital, and from 1995-2001 he was Director of Pastoral Care for the Oakland hospitals of UPMC.  He was named pastor of Good Samaritan in Ambridge in July 2001, and became pastor of a second parish, St. John the Baptist in Baden, in February 2006.  Father Esposito most recently served as pastor of St. Benedict the Abbot in Peters Township from May 2007 until February 3, 2011, when he became Episcopal Vicar for Region III.
