The Diocese of Pittsburgh is committed to transparency and has published its independently audited financial report every year since 1969. These documents will help you to understand how the Diocese of Pittsburgh uses your gifts to serve Jesus.
March 2024
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
As we embark on a renewed commitment to living our faith and sharing the love of Jesus with our neighbors, I am delighted to inform you that the Diocese of Pittsburgh once again has a balanced budget. Your generous gifts made this possible despite an inflationary economy that has made life more difficult for many of you.
Despite the headwinds of inflation, and the slow recovery after COVID, our parishes are growing in strength and unity. The women and men on my senior staff are deeply engaged in strategic planning so that all of our parishes and schools will be financially sustainable for years to come.
For more than half a century, the Diocese of Pittsburgh has published independently audited financial reports of its Central Administration. We continue to do so to reassure you that your offerings are used to advance the mission given to the Church by Jesus Himself. Thank you again for being so generous. Nearly all funds for Central Administration come from the annual Parish Appeal (formerly known as Parish Share), which supports ministries that individual parishes cannot carry out alone. Some of these ministries include assisting campus ministries programs to help college students grow in their faith and supporting men as they discern a call to the priesthood or diaconate, among other services provided to parishes and schools.
All of you, the faithful in our six counties, are in my prayers. I trust I am in yours. My service as your bishop, together with all our dedicated diocesan employees, is to help you grow in faith. All of these efforts are sustained with your generous support. Thank you again and again!
Grateful for our continued efforts together in being On Mission for The Church Alive!, and for our belief that “Nothing is Impossible with God,” I am
Your brother in Christ,
Most Reverend David A. Zubik
Bishop of Pittsburgh

In the opinion of Maher Duessel, the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Fund as of June 30, 2023 and 2022, and the changes in its net assets and its cash flows for the years then ended in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.
The financial statements outline how the Fund brought in and spent money in fiscal year 2023.
