Administrators at Archangel Gabriel School (McKees Rocks/Robinson) were notified that three members of the school community have tested positive for COVID-19 over the Thanksgiving break resulting from exposure unrelated to school.
Out of an abundance of caution and consistent with the recommendations of PA Department of Education, updated November 23, 2020, Archangel Gabriel School and pre-school will close for four days to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Students may return to the classroom Monday, December 7, 2020. In the interim, remote instruction will be provided.
Per CDC guidelines, all buildings are regularly cleaned and sanitized. In addition, Archangel Gabriel School continues to follow all diocesan, local, state, and federal health and safety directives, including wearing face coverings, handwashing/sanitizing, social distancing, self-screening, and cleaning/disinfecting.
“The well-being of our students and staff is our priority. We will continue with our mitigation efforts to deep clean and sanitize the school. Virtual learning will continue through next week as our goal to begin in-person learning is on Monday December 7th. I am thankful to our school community for their patience and prayers during this time,” said Cathy Militzer, principal.
