The Indiana Catholic Community (St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Thomas More University Parish) located in Indiana, PA is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Faith Formation for Primary Grades (K – 5) and Adult Faith Formation. The Indiana Catholic Community is looking for an individual who has a personal commitment to a life of discipleship (daily prayer, faith in action and openness to the movement of the Holy Spirit) and the heart to form and equip youth and families to become Missionary Disciples? Primary responsibilities for this position include: planning, directing and implementing the Faith Formation Program for parish children (K – 5) and their families, coordinating with St. Bernard Regional School, recruiting, preparing and supporting parish catechists for primary grades; planning and overseeing preparation of parish children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion; overseeing Children’s Liturgy of the Word; planning, overseeing, and recruiting for the Sacrament Preparation Team (Marriage Preparation, Baptism Preparation, RCIA), and collaboration with the Coordinator of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. The Director of Faith Formation will work to build up a vibrant parish life defined by evangelizing and forming families and individuals as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. Preferred Professional Requirements and Experience
Must be a fully initiated member of the Catholic Church in good standing, and a committed disciple of Jesus Christ
Professional or academic degree Religious Education, catechetics or related field; or demonstrated equivalent expertise.
Experience in parish ministry
