Bishop David Zubik has appointed Jennifer Kaniecki MacNeil as President of Saint Joseph High School (Natrona Heights) effective September 1, 2023.
In his appointment letter to MacNeil, Bishop Zubik emphasized her previous experiences with Saint Joseph High School, writing: “You bring many gifts and talents to the presidency at Saint Joseph High School. Of particular importance is your desire to serve the Catholic mission and identity of our schools. I especially know your exemplary service and leadership as Director of Development at Saint Joseph High School.”
Bishop Zubik continued, “I am confident that you will continue to build upon the fine tradition of excellence that has always been a hallmark at Saint Joseph High School.”
MacNeil also previously served as a member of the Board of Directors at Saint Joseph High School and as a Trustee to the Endowment for the last ten years. She has professional experience in project and IT management as well as a recent certification in Catholic School Management from Villanova University. Additionally, she is currently enrolled in the Remick Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame.
MacNeil’s primary responsibilities will include development, fundraising and the overall financial management of the school. In service to the school community, she will work collaboratively with the Principal, Kimberly Minick, who will continue to manage the school’s day-to-day academic affairs.
Beverly Kaniecki, who has served the Saint Joseph High School community as mathematics teacher, principal and president since 1979, will continue to assist with special projects as part of the leadership team.
“I am truly humbled by this opportunity to give back to my beloved alma mater,” MacNeil said. “Our school is blessed to have a very experienced, dedicated, and mission driven principal in Kimberly Minick and I look forward to a strong partnership. It is my honor to follow in the footsteps of many great leaders in our school’s history, especially our beloved Father Paul Henne, former pastor, and Sister Regina Claire Hart CSJ, former principal. I am excited to be part of the Remick Leadership Program at Notre Dame, with focus on transformation leadership for Catholic schools, which is necessary in today’s world to continue our mission of preparing young men and women for college, life and heaven.”
MacNeil is a native of western Pennsylvania and lives with her husband, Joseph, in Oakland. They are members of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in the Strip District.
