Saint Benedict the Moor School Moves to Remote Learning Due to Positive COVID Cases
Saint Benedict the Moor elementary school is closed to in-person learning through Monday, May 31, 2021. School administrators learned of a fifth positive COVID case involving a member of the school community in the past eight days. Following Pennsylvania Department of Health protocols for school closures related to COVID-19, the school will reopen for in-person instruction on June 1, 2021.
School families were notified of the situation and will be updated as needed through regular channels of communication.
All school buildings are regularly cleaned and sanitized. In addition, St. Benedict the Moor school continues to follow all diocesan, local, state, and federal health and safety directives.
"With the unpredictable nature of COVID-19 and the challenges it presents, it is in the school’s best interest to temporarily close our facilities for in-person learning at this time. Safety is our number one priority and we take every precaution possible to keep our students, teachers, staff, and school community as safe as possible," said Audrey Bowser, principal.
